Born in Nairobi, Kenya, and now making waves from London, UK, Komanii is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer whose music is an unapologetic reflection of his journey through life in this crazy world. Blending soulful melodies with razor-sharp lyricism, his mission is to create music that resonates deeply with fans around the globe.
Komanii’s creative journey took off when he began composing his own productions and lyrics during his college years in the US, drawing inspiration from artist like Chance the Rapper, Aminé, and Childish Gambino. His debut EP, Niko Tayari in 2018, set the tone for a career defined by innovation and collaboration, followed by standout features like “Gala” with Ayon Mukherji and Elrim.
Since then, Komanii has dropped a string of electrifying singles, including Habibi Cafe, Try Understand, TWENDE, and this year’s anthems, HURRA, 254, and Back To You. Each track showcases his versatility and passion for storytelling which has culminated in his most recent work, and EP titled Last Days of Summer. Beyond performing, Komanii is a powerhouse behind the scenes, mixing and mastering his own tracks, producing for others, and even designing visuals for his hits like Roll’in.
With influences spanning J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Dave, JID, Doechii, SZA and more, Komanii is a truly global artist with a sound that knows no borders.
